About

I am a passionate artist and educator and have studied art extensively from all around the world.  I am an active practicing artist specializing in graphite and actrylic portraiture working primarily around the subject of Identity and Social Consturctions.  I have been teaching art to all ages as an Artist Instructor for The Whiby Station Gallery for many years and am an Ontario Certified Teacher. Currently I am working the summer as an ECE preparing young children for their first year of Kindergarten and am a substitute teacher for all grades during the regular school year. 

 

I have done a lot of research and professional deveopment on the issues surrounding self-esteem in children and youth today as well as participated in developing ways for teachers to incorporate positive body image in the classroom (Teach Body Image).  I think self-esteem and confidence is something that is very powerful yet easily broken and, what I believe to be, the key to all success- based on your own definition.  I am very dedicated about running all my classes with an underlying focus to; stimulate curiosity, encourage creativity, and above all, build confidence in my students.

 

My reason for creating this website is simply to take the oportunity to expand my current teaching practices and artwork to the world.
